Project idea

A multifunctional pavilion responding to the speculative brief of AI Emissary 6, exploring the typical tension between technological systems and the living organism of a university campus in Dejvice, Prague.

Project description

KUBU3 is a multifunctional pavilion that directly responds to the tension between technological systems and the living nature of a university campus. The urban foundation is a spatial grid generated from the lines of the surrounding ground floor, into which a flexible modular system of expandable steel frame construction is inserted, based on a cell of 3×3×3 m. This rationally digital grid manifests in real space as an open, permeable structure that differentiates situations, commands views, reacts to student movement, and through its modules deliberately replaces living trees, thus demonstrating a symbiosis of technology and nature. Individual spatial cells are clad with semi-transparent cladding of polycarbonate and fiberglass, creating specific spatial qualities and functions — from informal zones with swinging chairs, through pre-lecture auditoriums, to communal seating, gardens and passages. The pavilion's lines of life, greenery, and reusable materials transform the user's sustainable experience. AI tools were used in creating visualizations and consulting the concept.
