Project idea

A design for an outdoor student pavilion on the university campus at Thákurova, Prague 6 – Dejvice, serving as a space for study and social gathering. The concept works with the motif of 'impulse' as a catalyst for concentration and informal encounters.

Project description

The architectural solution is based on a lightweight membrane construction that responds to subtle steel columns and a distinctive roof structure. The faceted, angular form creates a dynamic shelter providing protection from the elements while maintaining visual continuity with the surrounding landscape. The design draws from the logic of various impulses in form, creating a multifunctional space that allows for physical interaction with the campus, offering a place that provides diverse options for study as well as informal interactions.

Technical information

The structure uses a membrane construction system supported by steel columns. Material and color palette draws from simple and clean architecture, with main materials including concrete, steel, and glass, which together create a modern and subdued character. The structural scheme shows triangulated roof forms. Drawings include site plans at 1:2500 and 1:500, floor plan at 1:75, sections A-A and B-B at 1:75, northeast and northwest elevations at 1:75, and a construction scheme.
