A café with a museum at the Rudá věž smrti (Red Tower of Death) site, combining educational and hospitality functions in a striking angular architectural form using corten steel, exposed concrete, and glazed surfaces.
The project proposes a new building adjacent to the historical Rudá věž smrti site in the Karlovy Vary region. The concept divides the program into two main volumes: a calmer, less glazed educational building and an open, daylit café zone. The angular, faceted forms clad in corten steel reference the industrial heritage of the site while creating a dramatic contemporary intervention. The building features large glazed surfaces that open toward the landscape, with the corten panels providing weathered texture that relates to the existing historic structures.
The building uses corten steel cladding, exposed concrete (pohledový beton), and glazed surfaces (prosklené plochy). The floor plan is presented at 1:150 scale, showing the café area and educational spaces. The axonometric drawing reveals the structural composition with corten elements crowning the concrete base volumes. Elevations at 1:150 show the relationship between the new intervention and the existing historical buildings.
