A community house on the village green in Psáry, designed to serve as a public gathering place that respects the rural character and traditional architectural forms of the village.
The project proposes a community house (Obecní dům) located on the village square (náves) in the village of Psáry. The building features traditional gabled roof forms with distinctive circular windows that give it a contemporary identity while respecting the local architectural context. The design creates a two-story structure with public spaces on the ground floor including a café/gathering area and a library/reading room on the upper floor. The facade rhythm and building orientation respond to the existing village pattern and movement directions. The building uses a material palette of light plaster, natural wood, stone, and dark roofing that harmonizes with the surrounding rural architecture.
The building consists of two interconnected volumes with pitched roofs. Floor plans show ground floor (1.NP) and second floor (2.NP) layouts at 1:200 scale. Sections A-A and B-B are provided at 1:200 scale. Four elevations (northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast) are shown at 1:200 scale. A structural roof detail is provided at 1:10 scale showing the timber roof construction with layers including insulation. The site plan is at 1:5000 and 1:500 scales. The material composition includes light plaster walls, natural wood elements, stone paving, and dark roof tiles.
