Project idea

A temporary information center for the construction of the Vltava Philharmonic in Prague, located at the Vltavská/Buďny site. The design works with the contrast of the historical structure and the social character of the Vltava Philharmonic.

Project description

The building serves as an information center providing visitors with insights into the construction progress of the Vltava Philharmonic. The design incorporates a distinctive façade with patterned elements that reference the surrounding urban context. The program includes a main hall of approximately 130.5 m², a viewing platform of 72.8 m², storage areas, and support spaces. The building features a dynamic form with an elevated viewing terrace that provides panoramic views of the construction site and surrounding Holešovice neighborhood. The object can function as a multifunctional space for exhibitions, cultural events, and informational displays.

Technical information

The building is designed as a reinforced concrete structural system with foundations using reinforced concrete strips of 600mm depth and a subgrade layer of 200mm. The section shows levels at ±0.000, +3.500, and +5.000. The structure includes reinforced concrete walls and floor slabs with earth backfill components.
