Design of a community house on the village green in Psáry, serving as a multifunctional civic building combining commercial, service, and social functions for the village.
The project proposes a community house (Obecní dům) located on the village green in Psáry near Prague. The building is designed to serve multiple functions including a shop, post office, hairdresser, and a community hall. The design emphasizes integration with the existing village context through its form, using traditional pitched roof elements combined with contemporary white-rendered volumes. The building creates outdoor public spaces between its volumes, connecting to the village green. The material palette includes plaster walls, slate roofing, parquet flooring in the hall, and outdoor paving.
The project includes floor plans of the ground floor, cross sections, and all four elevations (north, south, east, west). A site plan shows the building's relationship to the surrounding urban fabric. The axonometric drawing reveals the interior layout and roof structure. Material specifications include exterior plaster, sheet metal roofing, parquet for the hall, outdoor paving, and room flooring. A roof ridge detail is also provided.
