A university training center for the CEG department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at CTU, featuring a bold cantilevered form clad in corten steel, integrated into the natural landscape.
The project proposes a training center complex embedded into a sloping terrain, comprising an administrative building, school building, accommodation section, conference area, quiet zone, and guest parking. The design uses a dramatic cantilevered volume clad in weathering steel (corten) that projects over the landscape, creating a striking architectural gesture. The building is partially buried into the hillside, minimizing its visual impact while maximizing the connection to the surrounding natural environment. The complex includes existing facilities and new structures organized around an access road.
The project includes floor plans at 1:250 scale for the basement (1PP) and ground floor (1NP), sections A-A' and B-B' at 1:250, northeast and northwest elevations at 1:250, a detailed wall section through the cantilever at 1:25, and an axonometric site plan showing the arrangement of all campus components. The structural detail shows the cantilevered facade construction with corten steel cladding system.
