Project idea

An exhibition space designed as a bold sculptural volume within the Dejvice campus in Prague, serving as an impulse for cultural activity and engagement within the university district.

Project description

The project proposes an exhibition pavilion called Vektor, located in Prague-Dejvice near the Faculty of Architecture campus. The building features a striking blue exterior with angular, folded geometric forms that create a dramatic and dynamic presence in the urban context. The design draws on the concept of a vector as a directional force, with sharp, crystalline volumes that appear to emerge and unfold from the ground plane. The structure integrates covered textile canopies and perforated sections to create semi-outdoor exhibition spaces. The building is situated within the existing campus context, responding to the surrounding urban fabric while establishing a strong visual identity.

Technical information

The construction uses a combination of steel framework and perforated panels that connect to the surrounding environment. Materials include Euromaximum Pantone 300 blue finish, concrete base, and translucent textile elements for the canopy. Plans, sections, and elevations are shown at 1:75 scale, with the site plan at 1:2500 and immediate surroundings at 1:500. The roof structure features tensile fabric stretched between angular steel supports. Panels are designed for exhibition use with walls designated for hanging artwork.
