The project aims to create a cultural-community center in Cholupice, Prague 12, situated on a village square. The goal is to build a modern structure with a multifunctional hall and a gallery, providing a place for gathering with high architectural standards. The building includes a community hall for concerts and events, a cafe, flexible spaces for various community uses from public gatherings to private celebrations.
The building concept draws from traditional barn forms and incorporates village character. To avoid appearing massive, the volume is divided into individual sections. The outer walls gradually transition from solid to open, giving the building a modern expression that naturally fits into the surrounding development. The structural system of the ground floor uses concrete walls and columns with a reinforced concrete ceiling. The upper level uses a timber frame construction with wooden truss structures. The facade features CLT panels with wooden lamellas, referencing traditional barn construction and adding visual plasticity.
The construction system consists of concrete walls and columns on the ground floor with reinforced concrete slabs. The upper floor uses a timber frame construction. The facade is composed of CLT panels with attached wooden lamella elements. The building includes a multifunctional hall, cafe, gallery spaces, and flexible rooms. Documentation includes site plan at 1:500, floor plans (ground floor and upper floor), south elevation, two cross-sections (BB' and AA'), and material studies showing wood and concrete combinations.
