A temporary information center for the construction of the Vltava Philharmonic Hall in Prague, locality Vltavská/Bubny, serving as an orientation landmark and cultural gateway to the radically transforming Holešovice and Bubny area.
The Maják Bubny (Bubny Lighthouse) is conceived as a temporary information center that brings culture and information to the city at the future site of the Vltava Philharmonic. The urban concept divides the building into two wings connected by a red tower that functions as a lighthouse — a vertical dominant and orientation point in the territory. The building integrates a gallery, exhibition spaces, a café, and utilitarian spaces. The red tower rises as the tallest element, referencing a lighthouse, while creating a sheltered inner atrium. The spatial logic organizes the building through vertical circulation cores with the red tower serving as the main vertical circulation element with staircases. The rooftop features a smaller terrace offering panoramic views of Prague and the surrounding construction site.
The structural system is a modular frame construction. The base consists of 30 shipping containers arranged vertically, creating a specific rhythm and proportion. The overall volume results from two horizontally stacked rows that support the dominant tower. The mass gradually rises from the lowest volume at the southern edge to the tallest element — the red lighthouse tower. The building features a monochromatic dark facade with red signage accents. Glass curtain wall sections reveal the bright interior. Floor plans are shown at 1:100 scale for 1NP, 2NP, and 3NP levels.
