Project idea

A foundation building dedicated to Zdeněk Sýkora located in Prague, Letná, combining gallery, cultural and community functions in a design that references the artist's geometric and pattern-based work.

Project description

The project proposes the Zdeněk Sýkora Foundation building situated in Prague's Letná district. The design features a composition of volumes with a prominent tower element clad in a patterned perforated facade inspired by Sýkora's artistic legacy. The building is organized across multiple floors including a basement level, with floor plans showing gallery spaces, communal areas, and service functions. The massing responds to the surrounding urban context while creating a distinctive landmark. The facade treatment with geometric patterns serves as both an architectural expression and a tribute to the artist's work.

Technical information

The building comprises a basement level (PP) and three above-ground floors (1.NP, 2.NP, 3.NP) shown at 1:200 scale. Floor plans, east and west elevations, two cross-sections (A-A' and B-B') at 1:200 scale, site plans at 1:1500, 1:5000, and 1:750, as well as an axonometric view and a wider context elevation at 1:500 are provided. The tower element features a distinctive perforated cladding system.
