Project idea

The community center is designed to address the current issues of the town of Veltrusy, responding to the needs and challenges of the local community. The building aims to serve as a multifunctional facility integrating civic, cultural, and social functions into the urban fabric of the small town.

Project description

The project proposes a community center in Veltrusy that combines administrative offices, a multifunctional hall, spaces for children and seniors, and a retail component. The building is organized around a courtyard layout, respecting the existing urban context and scale of the town. The design features a traditional pitched roof form with contemporary facade details, including tall narrow windows. The ground floor houses the main public functions including an entrance foyer, multifunctional hall, kitchen, and retail spaces. Upper floors contain offices, rehabilitation rooms, and administrative spaces. The building connects to the surrounding landscape and existing urban pattern.

Technical information

The building program spans multiple floors: ground floor with retail (38.2 sqm), entrance hall, multifunctional hall, kitchen, and WC facilities; first floor with children's entrance, playroom, offices, and rehabilitation spaces; second floor with offices and archive; and a basement level with technical rooms and storage. The project includes sections (Řez A and Řez B) showing the relationship between the pitched roof volumes and the internal spatial organization. The masterplan shows the ground floor layout with surrounding context and landscaping.
