Project idea

Revitalization of the Bulovna industrial complex into a museum, creating a new cultural and community center that integrates with the existing historical buildings while introducing contemporary organic architectural forms.

Project description

The project transforms the former Bulovna industrial site into a museum complex. The design introduces fluid, curvilinear new structures that contrast with and complement the existing rectilinear industrial buildings. The ground floor features organic, circular spaces that create an inviting public courtyard and entrance area. The new addition with its sinuous white facade and rounded openings serves as the primary museum space, while the existing buildings are adapted for complementary functions. The spatial solution works with the contrast between the rigid historical industrial architecture and the new flowing forms, creating dynamic interior and exterior spaces for exhibitions, gatherings, and public activities. Green roofs and terraces are incorporated to enhance the ecological and social value of the complex.

Technical information

The project includes two floor plans (ground floor and second floor), two sections (Section A-A' and Section B-B'), and an exploded axonometric diagram showing the spatial organization across multiple levels. The room schedule lists various functional spaces. The design integrates new curved structural elements with the existing industrial framework, featuring large glazed openings and a distinctive undulating roofline.
