Project idea

A museum of film and visual media designed as a circular building inspired by a camera lens (objektiv), creating a distinctive architectural form that reflects the institution's focus on visual culture.

Project description

The project proposes a Museum of Film and Visual Media featuring a central circular structure with radiating wing volumes. The building is organized around a central rotunda with a distinctive domed skylight, creating a dramatic interior space. The radial plan allows for flexible exhibition spaces branching outward from the central core. The museum includes exhibition halls, screening rooms, and public gathering spaces. The surrounding landscape is designed as a public park with green areas and pedestrian pathways, integrating the museum into the urban fabric.

Technical information

The building features a radial floor plan with a central circular core and extending rectangular volumes. The site plan shows the museum positioned within an urban block with surrounding green spaces. Floor plans at multiple levels show the circular organization with exhibition spaces, service areas, and circulation. Sections and elevations reveal the building's massing with the prominent central rotunda and lower wing structures. The facade combines curved glazed surfaces with solid wall panels in dark tones.
