Conversion of an existing building in Janštejn, Czech Republic into a Museum of Light combined with a hotel, celebrating the Brokis brand of special glass lighting.
The project involves the conversion of a building in Janštejn, Czech Republic, into a dual-purpose facility: a Museum of Light showcasing the Brokis glass lighting brand, and a hotel. The design integrates the existing structure with new architectural interventions, featuring a two-story building with generous glazing, clean modern lines, and a material palette of grey/white facade plaster, Brokis special glass elements, metal elements, and oak wooden elements. The building is set within a landscaped green environment with forest surroundings. The ground floor and first floor plans show hotel rooms, exhibition spaces, and common areas organized along a linear layout with a central circulation spine.
The project includes a site plan at 1:500, wider site context at 1:5000, ground floor and first floor plans at 1:125, two cross-sections (A-A' and B-B'), and four elevations (east, north, west, south) at 1:125. Materials include Brokis special glass, grey/white facade plaster, metal elements, and oak wooden elements. The building features a colonnade/pilotis system on portions of the facade, large window openings, and a flat roof profile. An axonometric view illustrates the building's three-dimensional form.
