Project idea

A multifunctional building complex in the town of Veltrusy designed to address contemporary community needs, integrating senior center, nursery, offices, and residential functions within a context-sensitive architectural composition.

Project description

The project proposes a polyfunctional building complex in Veltrusy that responds to the existing urban fabric and surrounding landscape. The ground floor contains a senior center with a capacity for community gatherings, a children's center, and commercial/office spaces. The upper floors include apartments and additional offices. The complex is organized around courtyards with parking located below the community center. The interior courtyard features spaces for cultural events, a garden for children, and relaxation areas for seniors. The architectural language references the local vernacular with pitched roofs, gabled forms, and restrained materiality using light-colored facades with stone or brick accents.

Technical information

The building areas include: senior center 176 m², nursery/group facility 100 m², retail 85 m², offices 200 m², apartments 240 m². Parking includes 12 spaces in a garage, 2 exterior, and 2 barrier-free spaces. The construction can utilize various structural possibilities including masonry, reinforced concrete frame, CLT panels, timber frame, stone walls, or hybrid combinations.
