The project aims to design a multifunctional community center in Veltrusy, addressing the need for civic and community spaces on the town square. The design proposes a complex of buildings that respect the existing urban fabric and historic character of the square while introducing new functional spaces.
The community center in Veltrusy consists of three buildings that are divided into publicly accessible spaces and administrative/service areas. The ground floor contains a senior center, multipurpose hall, and various service facilities. The underground level provides parking. The complex is organized around a courtyard that creates a pleasant space for residents. The building volumes are designed as smaller masses that respect the scale of the surrounding context, resembling the proportions of smaller town houses. The site layout allows for flexible use of the square space and accommodates larger events when needed.
The project includes underground parking (10 spaces including 2 mobility-impaired and 2 technical rooms), ground floor with multifunctional hall, WC facilities, kitchen, senior center with rehabilitation, and administrative spaces. The second floor contains a hall, hygiene facilities, offices, chancellor's office, and additional utility rooms. Construction materials include travertine stone cladding, white plaster with cement-lime mortar following the local building tradition, and colored plaster for accent surfaces. The design includes sections A-A, B-B, and C-C showing the spatial relationships between the buildings.
