Project idea

A new gymnasium building located in the town of Jesenice, designed to serve as a secondary school with sports facilities. The concept divides the program into five functional blocks connected by a central corridor and a common courtyard space.

Project description

The building is situated on a site in Jesenice and is organized as five functional units: classrooms, administration, sports hall, dining facilities, and a connecting block. The design creates a courtyard-oriented layout that relates to the surrounding urban context. The structure features a distinctive red/brick-toned facade with rhythmic window openings and a prominent sports hall volume. The building includes ground floor and upper floor plans showing classrooms, offices, a large gymnasium/sports hall, and supporting facilities.

Technical information

The building is designed as a reinforced concrete frame structure with infill masonry walls. The sports hall spans approximately 25 meters. The building features multiple floors with floor plans showing 1NP, 2NP, 3NP, and 1PP levels. Cross sections and longitudinal sections reveal the varying heights of different program blocks. The western and northern elevations show the articulated facade treatment with regular fenestration patterns.
