A film museum designed with a striking perforated red facade that evokes the visual language of cinema, featuring vertical louvers and patterned screens that create dynamic light and shadow effects reminiscent of film strips and projection.
The project proposes a Museum of Film (Muzeum Filmu) called Fenaki, located in Prague. The building is organized across multiple floors with exhibition spaces, screening rooms, and public amenities. The design features a distinctive red perforated facade composed of vertical elements of varying widths that wrap around the building volume, creating an iconic presence in the urban context. The ground floor opens to the surrounding landscape with generous glazing behind the facade screen, while upper floors contain the main exhibition and programmatic spaces. The building sits within an urban block context, engaging with surrounding streets and public spaces through careful site planning and landscaping.
The building includes multiple floor levels (1NP through 5NP plus 1PP underground level). Floor plans at 1:250 scale show the spatial organization across floors. The structure appears to use a column grid system visible in the plans. Sections (Řez A and Řez B) at 1:250 reveal the internal spatial relationships and ceiling heights. West (Západní pohled) and south (Jižní pohled) elevations at 1:250 show the facade treatment. Site plans are provided at 1:10000 for broader context and 1:1000 for immediate surroundings.
