Conversion and extension of the Bulovna complex into a museum facility, integrating new architectural volumes with the existing historical structures.
The project proposes a museum design for the Bulovna site, combining existing buildings with new additions featuring contemporary materiality including wooden vertical cladding elements and light-colored rendered facades. The design organizes the program across multiple floors, with exhibition spaces, public areas, and supporting functions distributed throughout the complex. The concept works with the relationship between old and new structures, creating a cohesive campus-like arrangement with landscaped outdoor spaces and clear circulation paths. The site plan shows the building positioned within a green context with organized parking and pedestrian access routes.
The project includes five floor plans (1st through 5th floors) showing the spatial organization at each level. Cross-sections reveal the structural approach with exposed timber roof trusses in the larger exhibition halls. The building section shows varying ceiling heights accommodating different programmatic needs. The plans indicate a mixed structural system with the new additions featuring regular column grids and the existing structures being adapted for new uses.
