The project addresses a special regime residential building in Prague 5, named Velum Terra, meaning a veil of earth. The concept involves creating a residential care facility composed of independent living units arranged around courtyards, emphasizing connection between architecture and the surrounding natural environment.
The design consists of a composition of independent residential blocks organized to create intimate courtyard spaces. The architectural expression features a timber-clad facade with a rhythmic grid pattern that provides a warm, natural character. The building complex is designed to serve as a special regime house (care home) with various floor levels accommodating different functions. The concept aims to create a dignified living environment for residents while maintaining a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape and green spaces. The spatial solution shows multiple floors with varied apartment layouts arranged around central circulation cores.
The documentation includes site plans at 1:100 scale, floor plans showing multiple levels (1NP, 2NP, 3NP, 4NP), cross-sections, and a site context plan at 1:5000 scale. The building features a regular structural grid with timber cladding on the facade. The spatial arrangement shows the three-dimensional massing of the interconnected building volumes with varying heights.
