A hope for tomorrow, by examining our past and present.
Inspired by Calatrava’s Museum of Tomorrow, the Gachsaran Petroleum Museum attempts to inform the viewer of the dire environmental situation currently facing the globe, through the display and education of the nature and history of fossil fuels.
The viewers are visit the six exhibition that comprise the museum’s main survives; in order these are: the Paleo-historical exhibition, chemistry exhibition, the historical exhibition, and the industrial, economic and future exhibitions. These spaces explore the various aspects of petroleum and the fossil fuel industry in an attempt to inform the visitors of the world’s dire situation regarding fossil fuels and pollution.
Inspired from elements found in industrial oil refineries (pump jacks, tubes, silos etc.) The museum of Petroleum museum was design with a post-modern philosophy: drawing upon familiar elements to create a mental link between the physical form of the architecture and the subject matter.
