A place where speed pauses, system resets, and control is reclaimed. Inspired by the racing philosophy of a pit stop, the design explores the balance between motion and pause.
The form derives from the aerodynamic curves of a sports car, expressing speed and fluidity. The curved geometries are derived from the fluid body lines of a car, translating motion into spatial expression. It is a space where motion slows down and life resets before moving forward. Design features include curved geometry with fluid lines inspired by car body contours, indoor-outdoor flow with open spaces creating seamless transitions, sunken spaces for gradual slowing of movement creating intimate zones, and a natural material palette of concrete, wood, and glass for warmth and clarity. The ramp acts as a continuous movement spine inspired by racetrack dynamics, allowing direct car access to the first floor while symbolizing motion within the built form.
Material palette consists of concrete for strength and durability used for main structure, wood for warmth and softening the design used inside shaded areas, and glass for transparency, visual flow, and bringing in natural light. Sunken areas include a courtyard 1.5ft sunken with gentle transition and living/dining/kitchen 3ft sunken for deeper immersion creating a sense of enclosure, comfort, and mindedness. The change in levels represents the gradual slowing down of movement just like a car entering a pit stop. The experience journey progresses through arrival, descend, gather, scan, depart phases.
