An urban design proposal for Zemianské Kostoľany that works with the rural character of the area, where houses naturally form calm and protected environments. Buildings along the main road serve as visual and acoustic filters, while the inner parts of the territory connect to and build upon the traditional architecture of the village.
The design places a park zone with additional greenery on the southern side, creating distance from the road and providing space for relaxation. The green areas take the form of trees and vegetation that enhance ecological value and support a rural atmosphere. The traffic solution is simple, clear, and provides sufficient parking. The main communication concept stems from placing the park on the southern side of the resolved territory, with traffic connections leading from the north where it is quieter. The placement of parcels respects the orientation of neighboring plots and their elongated shape, enabling natural integration into the village development pattern. The proposed buildings are single-story, with simple massing, saddle roofs, and east-west orientation ensuring even daylight illumination of interiors.
Study program: B-PSA / VII. The project includes site plan, functional zoning analysis, height analysis, green space analysis, wider context analysis, cadastral territory mapping, axonometric views of proposed objects, and historical map references (military mapping 1764, road map ČSSR 1950, topographic map 1957, and current map 2026).
