Preserving the cultural identity of Kadıkoy by retaining the graffiti wall as the project's focal point, combining collective housing with public urban life to celebrate the district's creative, inclusive and community-oriented character.
A co-housing complex and bazaar located in Istanbul, Turkey on a 41,000 square meter site. The project preserves the cultural identity of Kadıkoy, a colorful and layered city with graffiti-covered walls. The graffiti wall becomes the design's focal point, serving as a symbol of local expression and community memory. Focal points around the site generate canopies that define a public market, sport center, library and dining hall below, with co-housing units above. An amphitheater placed in front of the graffiti wall strengthens its role as a social and cultural gathering point. The design includes open bazaar areas, production circles, gym and external spaces, and a canopy structure.
