Project idea

Centered on sound, this project seeks to enrich the urban cultural landscape by creating a space for listening, relaxation, and artistic engagement. Through exhibitions, sound experiences, and small-scale performances, it connects schools, communities, and creators, forming an open hub for sound-based cultural exchange.

Project description

Inspired by the form of sound, the design translates the rhythm and movement of sound waves into architectural expression. Square volumes symbolize sections of a musical score, while flowing curves derived from treble and bass notes introduce a sense of fluidity to the building form. The façade takes inspiration from the image of turning sheet music pages, using layered and extended elements to create a light, rhythmic composition. Together, these features give the building a dynamic and flowing presence that can be recognized from afar.

Technical information

The entrance lobby adopts an open ground-floor design, combining glass curtain walls and stone-clad columns to create a transparent public space that strengthens the connection between the building and the surrounding plaza. The structure is primarily supported by reinforced concrete, while the upper volume is wrapped with curved metal fins inspired by the rhythm and movement of sound waves, providing both solar shading and architectural expression.

Natural stone panels are applied to the building base, with vertical divisions enhancing the sense of rhythm and continuity across the façade. A sound-wave-inspired installation is positioned near the entrance, using varying heights and flowing lines to represent the frequency and dynamics of sound.

At night, integrated linear lighting highlights the layered façade and curved forms, creating a visual effect reminiscent of flowing sound waves and enhancing the building's identity within the public realm.
