PALM HUB – Education, Exhibition & Sustainable Process Centre, Kuala Selangor
PALM HUB is envisioned as an integrated educational and experiential centre dedicated to celebrating the significance of Malaysia’s palm oil industry while promoting sustainable practices, innovation and public awareness. Located in Kuala Selangor, an area surrounded by agricultural landscapes and plantation activities, the project serves as a platform that bridges knowledge, industry, community and environmental responsibility.
The idea of PALM HUB originates from the need to transform the perception of the palm oil industry from merely an economic commodity into a source of knowledge, culture, research and sustainable development. The centre is designed to provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the entire palm oil ecosystem from cultivation and harvesting to processing, biomass utilisation and the development of value added products. It also aims to demonstrate how modern technologies and sustainable approaches can contribute towards a circular economy and a greener future.
Through a combination of educational spaces, interactive exhibition galleries, demonstration facilities, workshops and community engagement areas, PALM HUB becomes more than a visitor attraction; it functions as a living laboratory where students, researchers, industry players and the public can experience the transformation of oil palm resources into sustainable products. Inspired by the principles of environmental stewardship and resource efficiency, the centre highlights zero-waste concepts and innovative biomass technologies that support Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable palm oil production.
The project seeks to establish Kuala Selangor as a destination for agro-industrial education and sustainable tourism while creating opportunities for research collaboration, public awareness and local economic growth. By integrating learning, exhibition and sustainable processing under one roof, PALM HUB aspires to become a landmark that showcases the future direction of the Malaysian palm oil industry and its contribution to national development.
