Alba Ligno, derived from alba (light) and ligno (wood), reimagines the 6th Floor Library of Petra Christian University as a contemporary sanctuary for learning and reflection, rooted in Scandinavian and Modern Minimalist principles.
The design embraces natural light, soft neutral tones, and warm wood textures to create a calm, bright, and welcoming atmosphere. The concept balances openness and warmth through clean spatial organization, ergonomic furnishings, and a carefully curated material palette. By minimizing visual distractions and enhancing user comfort, the library supports focus, creativity, and meaningful interaction. More than a place to access knowledge, Alba Ligno transforms the library into an inspiring environment where clarity, well-being, and lifelong learning can flourish.
