Project idea

JOY Exhibition Art Gallery is an art gallery concept inspired by the movement of drawing paper and the playful process of making art. The design uses soft curves, layered platforms, yellow accents, and transparent partitions to create a space that feels lively, open, and engaging. Instead of creating a rigid gallery, the project turns the exhibition space into a flowing journey where visitors can move naturally between drawing displays, craft works, clay models, and interactive art activities.

Project description

This project is designed as a community-based art gallery that showcases students’ creative works in drawing, craft, and clay. The space is divided into several main areas, including the drawing art gallery, crafting and clay gallery, staircase feature, seating area, and display hallway. The design encourages children, teenagers, elderly visitors, parents, educational institutions, and potential sponsors to experience the artworks in a more relaxed and interactive environment. The overall atmosphere is bright, welcoming, and playful, using yellow and white tones to create a strong identity while keeping the gallery visually light and accessible.

Technical information

Technically, the gallery uses an open-plan layout with curved circulation to guide visitors through different exhibition zones. The design applies transparent glass walls to maintain visual connection between spaces, while aluminium fins and ceiling tray elements help create rhythm, shade, and spatial layering. Materials such as plywood, stainless steel, aluminium, concrete, and epoxy flooring are used to balance durability, clean finishing, and easy maintenance. The staircase also functions as both circulation and display seating, allowing the space to become more flexible. Suspended artwork panels, wall-mounted displays, and movable exhibition elements allow the gallery to adapt to different types of student work and exhibition formats.
