Project idea

Design of a center for ecological and leisure activities along the Danube river, creating a sustainable building that harmonizes with the natural riverside environment.

Project description

The project proposes an eco-center located on a peninsula by the Danube River. The building features a timber-clad façade with large glazed openings, integrating the structure with its natural surroundings. The design includes analysis of the surrounding area, a new layout for the peninsula, and functional zoning. The single-story building is organized around a clear floor plan with various functional spaces for ecological education and leisure activities. The massing development shows how the form evolved from a simple rectangular volume through subtractive and additive operations to create an articulated composition with varying roof heights. Multiple elevations (southeast, northwest, southwest, northeast) and cross-sections (A-A', B-B', C-C', D-D') document the architectural design. The project also addresses operational flow lines and functional utilization of the site.

Technical information

The building is a single-story structure with timber cladding. The floor plan (1.NP) shows the spatial organization with clearly defined functional zones. Four cross-sections document the building's internal spatial relationships. The project includes site analysis, peninsula layout, and circulation diagrams.
