This project reimagines Gotham Billiard & Café as a contemporary entertainment destination that goes beyond conventional billiard venues. The design responds to the growing demand for leisure-oriented social spaces by integrating recreation, community interaction, dining, and entertainment within a single environment.

Inspired by the concept of "Leisure Escape," the project transforms billiards from a purely sport-oriented activity into part of a broader entertainment lifestyle experience. Through the creation of public, semi-private, and private zones, the design accommodates diverse user needs ranging from casual social gatherings to exclusive recreational experiences.

Located in Surabaya's lifestyle and leisure district, the project aims to establish Gotham as a modern third place where visitors can relax, socialize, and enjoy entertainment in a warm, comfortable, and memorable setting.

Project description

The project involves the interior redesign of Gotham Billiard & Café, a two-storey entertainment venue with a land area of approximately 523 m² and a total developed area of approximately 735 m². The redesign focuses on strengthening the identity of the venue as an entertainment lifestyle hub rather than a conventional billiard hall.

The spatial program is organized through a clear zoning strategy consisting of public, private, and service areas. The first floor accommodates the café, bar, outdoor seating, public billiard area, and a golf simulator room, while the second floor provides additional public billiard and mahjong spaces, private billiard rooms, karaoke facilities, and outdoor leisure seating. This arrangement creates a gradual transition between active social spaces and exclusive entertainment environments.

The design adopts a Modern Contemporary style characterized by warm materials, earthy tones, ambient lighting, and comfortable furnishings. The overall atmosphere promotes calm entertainment, intimate social interaction, and extended visitor engagement. Additional entertainment programs such as mahjong, karaoke, golf simulation, board games, arcade games, and lounge activities enrich the user experience and encourage community building
