Project Statement
In Nagoya, Japan, the threat of the Nankai Trough megathrust earthquake is imminent. Should this disaster strike Nagoya—one of Japan’s three major metropolitan areas—this project proposes the construction of a maglev shinkansen station designed to serve as a resilient base and shelter where people can seek refuge.
