Project idea

A family house in a rural village context that respects the traditional character of the surrounding area while introducing contemporary living spaces, using local stone walls and simple gabled forms integrated into the existing urban fabric.

Project description

The project is a family house situated in the village of Nalžovice. The design responds to the surrounding rural context, incorporating traditional stone masonry walls that define the plot boundaries and connect the new building to the historic character of the village. The house features a simple gabled roof form with rendered walls and circular window openings, creating a dialogue between old and new. The interior is organized around an open-plan living area with generous glazing opening toward the garden, providing natural light and connection to the landscape. The layout includes private rooms, a kitchen-dining area, and utility spaces arranged efficiently within the compact volume.

Technical information

The construction combines stone masonry boundary walls with contemporary building techniques. The foundation detail shows reinforced concrete strip foundations with thermal insulation extending below grade. Wall construction includes insulated masonry with rendered finish. The roof structure features timber framing with metal standing seam roofing. Floor plans show careful organization of spaces with floor areas indicated. Construction details demonstrate proper thermal envelope continuity, waterproofing layers, and drainage systems at the foundation level.
