Design of a new elementary school in Mladá Boleslav - Podměstí district, featuring a campus-like layout with multiple interconnected buildings organized around courtyards and green spaces, with an athletic field integrated into the site.
The project proposes a new elementary school complex in the Podměstí area of Mladá Boleslav. The design creates a series of interconnected low-rise buildings arranged around landscaped courtyards, providing diverse outdoor spaces for students. The campus includes educational buildings, a sports hall with running track, dining facilities, and extensive outdoor areas including a full athletic track. The architecture employs a timber structural system with exposed wooden beams and columns, creating warm, naturally lit interior spaces. The buildings feature a modular grid structure allowing flexible classroom configurations. Landscaped gardens with naturalistic planting create transitional spaces between indoor and outdoor environments.
The structural system is predominantly timber frame construction with exposed glulam beams and columns. The buildings are organized across multiple floor levels shown in detailed floor plans at various scales. The sports hall features a large-span timber roof structure with a mezzanine-level running track. Cross-sections and elevations reveal the building heights and relationships between different program areas. The site plan shows integration with existing urban fabric, road access, and the positioning of the athletic field.
