Conversion and extension of a rural farmstead in Tursko village, creating a community or residential building that respects the traditional village character while introducing contemporary architectural elements.
The project is situated in Tursko, a small village near Prague. The design works with an existing farmstead plot, preserving and renovating original rural structures while adding new volumes. The approach maintains the traditional street-facing facade and courtyard layout typical of Czech rural architecture. New additions feature clean white rendered walls with yellow accent elements, contrasting with the stone and rendered walls of the original buildings. The ground floor plan organizes living and communal spaces around a central courtyard, with a summer cinema or gathering space. The upper level is accessed via internal stairs and provides additional living areas with generous glazing toward the garden.
The project includes detailed architectural sections showing the construction assembly with pitched roof structures, insulation layers, and material transitions between old and new. Floor plans at 1:200 scale show the ground and upper floor layouts. The construction detail reveals a timber roof structure with metal roofing, proper thermal insulation, and careful detailing at the junction between the existing masonry walls and new additions. Elevations show the relationship between the preserved stone boundary walls and new white-rendered volumes.
