Project idea

A family house built into a hillside in Libčice nad Vltavou, designed for a five-member family, taking advantage of the sloped terrain and views of the Vltava river and surrounding landscape.

Project description

The project is a design of a family house for a five-member family situated on the outskirts of the town Libčice nad Vltavou, specifically in its local part called Letky. The house is designed using contemporary architectural and material approaches. The unique hillside location offers views of the Vltava river and surrounding greenery. The design uses a simple yet distinctive architectural form that naturally integrates into the landscape through its horizontal volumes and accessible green roof. The concept revolves around placement, accessibility, connection, and permeation of the building with the terrain. Materials include glass (referencing the clear waters of the Vltava), wood (representing the rich natural surroundings), and concrete (representing the strength of the local rock formations).

Technical information

The building consists of two floors (1NP and 2NP) with floor plans showing living spaces, bedrooms, and service areas. The board includes site plan (situace), floor plans (půdorys 1NP and 2NP), two sections (Řez A, Řez B), four elevations (western, southern, northern, eastern), axonometric views, and an energy concept diagram showing passive design strategies including thermal envelope considerations and natural ventilation.
