Project description

The project proposes a new School of Arts in the Podhradí district of Mladá Boleslav. The building features a distinctive red-brick facade with varied window patterns that reflect the diverse functions within. The design includes multiple floors with classrooms, studios, and workshops for various art disciplines, a concert hall with stage and audience seating, and communal gathering spaces. The ground floor opens to the surrounding public space with covered outdoor areas and a café terrace, integrating the building into the urban fabric. The interior features a central atrium with a dramatic multi-level space characterized by curved red structural elements and natural lighting from above, creating an inspiring environment for students and visitors.

Technical information

The building is organized across multiple levels with floor plans showing specialized art studios, classrooms, and a large performance hall. The section reveals a complex internal organization with a double-height concert hall, mezzanine levels, and a central atrium space. The facade system uses a perforated brick screen with varied openings. The site plan shows the building's triangular footprint responding to the existing street pattern, with landscaped areas and pedestrian connections to the surrounding neighborhood.
