Project idea

A family house on the edge — a residential design that responds to the terrain edge condition, integrating the building into the sloping landscape with a strong emphasis on views, height levels, and dynamic architectural expression.

Project description

The project is a family house designed on a sloping site. The concept is built around four key principles: 1) Rokle - architectural expression with brutalist and dynamic character, 2) Integration into the terrain with sensitivity to the landscape, 3) Height levels - the interior reflects the varying height levels of the terrain, and 4) Direction of views - the placement of openings captures panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The house features exposed concrete as the primary material, large glazed surfaces, and multi-level living spaces that follow the natural topography. The architecture creates a strong dialogue between the built form and the natural terrain edge.

Technical information

The project includes a site plan at 1:1000 scale, floor plans of the 1st and 2nd floors at 1:300 scale, four elevations (north, east, south, west) at 1:200 scale, and two building sections (A-A and B-B) at 1:100 scale. The building is organized across multiple levels following the terrain slope, with exposed concrete structural walls and large glass panels. The architectural situation plan shows the building positioned on an edge/slope condition within a broader urban context.
