A public library designed for the Rajská Zahrada area in Prague, featuring a bold red facade with integrated greenery and a distinctive curved organic form that serves as a community cultural hub.
The project proposes a new library building in the Rajská Zahrada neighborhood of Prague. The design features a striking red-clad facade with a modern architectural expression that stands out within its urban context. The building incorporates multiple floors with varied programmatic uses including reading rooms, study areas, and public spaces. The organic, curved floor plans create fluid interior spaces that wrap around central cores. Green terraces and planted areas are integrated into the facade, softening the building's appearance. The concept draws from analysis of the site's position within Prague and responds to the surrounding urban fabric with a form that mediates between existing buildings.
The building spans multiple stories including one underground level (1.PP) and five above-ground floors (1.NP through 5.NP). Floor plans show organic curved layouts with structural cores and open plan library spaces. The project includes western, northern, southern and eastern elevations showing the red cladding system. Two building sections (A-A' and B-B') reveal the internal spatial organization across all levels. The site plan shows the building's integration with surrounding streets and public spaces.
