Project idea

The Chapel of Eternity is designed as a rigorous architectural monolith that embodies permanence, immutability, and absolute stability through time. Its heavy and uncompromising volume stands as a symbol of an unshakeable core amidst an ever-changing natural world, creating a powerful monumental contrast with the fluid lines of the surrounding landscape.

Project description

The primary tool for shaping the interior environment is the dramatic interplay with natural light. Precise apertures in the shape of a cross are carved into the solid monolithic walls, allowing sharp, directional light rays to pierce the dim prayer hall. These sacred light accents transform the raw interior, establishing an intimate space for personal reflection, contemplation, and quiet observation.

Technical information

From a structural standpoint, the construction is fabricated entirely from concrete and glass. The concrete provides the building with its essential mass, durability, and expressive tactile texture, while the glass components integrate the cruciform apertures into the monolith's body, ensuring both structural integrity and the seamless execution of the architectural form.
