Project idea

ARTFEENA Boutique was conceived as a response to the growing need for contemporary cultural spaces that preserve and celebrate Saudi heritage. Inspired by the historic identity of Diriyah and traditional Najdi architecture, the project aims to create a meaningful connection between heritage, art, and modern retail. The goal is to provide visitors with an immersive cultural experience while supporting local artisans, promoting Saudi craftsmanship, and transforming retail into a journey of storytelling and cultural discovery.

Project description

ARTFEENA Boutique is a cultural retail destination located in Al-Zulal District, Diriyah. The project combines curated retail displays, exhibition-inspired product presentation, gathering spaces, and experiential circulation paths within a contemporary environment rooted in Saudi identity. Visitors are guided through a sequence of spaces that showcase handcrafted products, cultural artifacts, home accessories, ceramics, textiles, and artworks, creating a unique retail experience that celebrates heritage and contemporary design.

Technical information

The project is designed as an open-plan retail environment with flexible display arrangements and clear circulation routes. The interior incorporates natural stone, travertine, wood, textured plaster finishes, decorative metal screens, and glass. Daylight is filtered through geometric screens inspired by traditional Najdi patterns, creating dynamic light and shadow effects throughout the space. The lighting strategy combines natural, ambient, and accent lighting to enhance product visibility and spatial atmosphere. Sustainable principles are integrated through durable materials, daylight optimization, and energy-efficient LED lighting systems.
