The project aims to design “SADA”, a local lifestyle multibrand retail space in Surabaya that provides a more engaging shopping experience through an experiential space approach. The design responds to the growing need for retail environments that not only facilitate transactions but also encourage exploration, interaction, and social engagement. By integrating retail, immersive experiences, and social spaces, SADA is envisioned as a destination where visitors can discover and connect with local lifestyle brands in a more meaningful way.
The project consists of several interconnected areas, including the Self Expression Lifestyle Area (fashion, beauty, and fragrance), Active Lifestyle Area, Exploration Area, Cafe Area, Fitting rooms, checkout area, and supporting service spaces. The design adopts the concept of “Seekscape,” creating a dynamic and immersive user journey that encourages visitors to explore products, engage with brands, and experience the space through interactive and multisensory activities. The overall design style is Industrial Futuristic, characterized by exposed materials, geometric forms, adaptive lighting, and technology integrated features.
The project is located within a shopping mall environment in Surabaya and is designed as an open retail space. The design incorporates exposed ceilings, metal structures, glass elements, concrete finishes, epoxy flooring, LED-integrated display systems, and Barrisol stretch ceilings. Spatial planning emphasizes flexible circulation, modular display systems, adaptive lighting, and immersive digital features to support experiential retail activities while maintaining operational efficiency.
