Project idea

The Intergenerational Care Campus is envisioned as a shared environment where different generations can live, learn, interact, and support one another through everyday experiences. In response to increasing social isolation among the elderly and the growing disconnect between age groups in contemporary society, the project seeks to create a community-centric model that promotes mutual care, knowledge exchange, and social well-being.

Rather than segregating users based on age, the campus integrates facilities for children, youth, adults, and senior citizens within a cohesive architectural framework. Through carefully designed communal spaces, activity zones, educational facilities, healthcare services, and recreational environments, the project fosters meaningful interactions that strengthen social bonds and create a sense of belonging. The design aims to redefine care as a shared community responsibility while enhancing the quality of life for all generations.

Project description

The Intergenerational Care Campus is a mixed-use community development that combines residential, educational, healthcare, recreational, and social facilities within a single integrated environment. The campus is designed to encourage daily interaction between children, working adults, and senior citizens, creating opportunities for mentorship, learning, companionship, and collective growth.

The program includes senior living units, childcare and learning spaces, healthcare and wellness facilities, community centers, skill development spaces, outdoor recreational areas, and shared social infrastructure. The spatial organization promotes accessibility, inclusivity, and user comfort while ensuring a balance between private, semi-private, and public domains.

The architectural design emphasizes walkability, universal accessibility, climatic responsiveness, and human-centered spaces. Landscaped courtyards, interactive plazas, shaded pathways, and activity nodes act as social catalysts, encouraging spontaneous encounters and community engagement. By integrating care, learning, and recreation within a single ecosystem, the project proposes a sustainable and socially resilient model that addresses the evolving needs of contemporary society while strengthening intergenerational relationships.
