Project idea

The main idea of the project is to develop a design concept for a suburban cottage designed to provide comfortable living for two people.
The requirement was to create a comfortable space for relaxation and social gatherings, featuring an open layout and a cozy terrace designed for evening leisure.

Project description

The project includes a representative living room with a fireplace, designed for cozy evenings, and a large comfortable sofa. There is also a dining table designed for 6–8 people, according to the client’s request. As an extension of the relaxation area, the terrace features a sofa with a side table that includes a built-in bioethanol fireplace. The terrace also has a folding dining table and a grill. The kitchen was designed for a couple who do not cook often. A semi-bar table was provided for breakfasts, along with a designated area for feeding pets and access to a pantry with serving utensils, additional refrigerators for drinks, and a wine storage area. The first floor also includes a bathroom, a boiler room combined with a laundry area, and a private home office with a comfortable and functional workspace.
The second floor is an attic level with a sloped ceiling, which adds character to the interior design and influences certain planning decisions. The floor includes a terrarium for a large iguana, a guest bathroom, and a guest bedroom. There is also a small fitness area with sports equipment and an exercise bike.
The master bedroom consists of a sleeping area with a dressing table, followed by a spacious walk-in wardrobe with storage for clothes and accessories. The bedroom area is complemented by a bathroom with a freestanding bathtub placed near the window.

Technical information

The two-story suburban house features a monolithic reinforced concrete foundation and reliable energy-efficient wall structures with insulation. The inter-floor slabs are made of concrete and used in the interior as a decorative element in the loft style. Panoramic windows on the first and second floors provide natural lighting and a connection with the surrounding environment. The second floor includes a balcony designed as an additional relaxation area.
