Project description

The project involves the reconstruction of the Voznesensky Barracks ensemble, a historic urban block featuring classical architecture alongside a church. The design proposes adaptive reuse of the existing barracks buildings with new contemporary insertions including glass-roofed structures and modern facades that contrast with the preserved historical facades. The project creates new public spaces, courtyards, and pedestrian areas within the complex. Historical analysis and urban context studies inform the design approach, maintaining the scale and character of the surrounding urban fabric while introducing contemporary architectural elements.

Technical information

The project includes detailed floor plans, cross-sections, and elevations showing the relationship between existing historic structures and new interventions. The site plan demonstrates the overall layout with landscaping and circulation. New structures feature glass and steel roof systems over interior courtyards. Multiple facade studies show the integration of modern glazed elements with restored classical facades.
