A sustainable development and production center in Aswan, Egypt dedicated to palm products, integrating research, production, innovation, and community empowerment in a hot desert climate.

Project description

The project is a large-scale academic architectural design for a sustainable palm products development and production center located in Aswan, Egypt. The facility encompasses research, production, innovation, and community functions, aimed at innovating research, producing sustainably, and empowering the local community. The complex features curved and linear building forms with timber structural elements, courtyards, and landscaped areas with palm trees, responding to the local desert context and Nubian architectural traditions. The site area is 61,406 square meters.

The design incorporates timber and wood structural systems inspired by palm architecture, with curved amphitheater-like forms, linear production halls with exposed timber trusses, and shaded courtyard spaces.
