Design of a two-story family house in Bratislava–Rača, Krasňany, created as calm and comfortable housing for a 3–4 member family. The main idea of the project is to connect modern family living with the natural surroundings, garden, daylight, terraces and greenery.
The project proposes a detached two-story family house with a simple compact form, complemented by side volumes, a terrace, balcony and a glazed orangery. The house is functionally divided into a daily zone on the ground floor and a private zone on the second floor. The ground floor includes a living room connected with a kitchen and dining area, a guest room, garage, technical room, bathroom, pantry, orangery and terrace. The second floor contains the bedroom, children’s room, study, bathroom, wardrobe, WC, balcony and terrace. Large glazed openings and exterior living areas create a strong connection between the interior, garden and surrounding greenery.
The building is designed as a masonry structural system with brick external walls and thermal insulation. The floor structure and the two-flight internal staircase are designed as reinforced concrete constructions. The house has a flat roof and is designed with an emphasis on energy efficiency, using quality thermal insulation, suitable orientation, natural ventilation through window openings and controlled ventilation with heat recovery. Heating is provided by a heat pump system. The facade is finished with light beige silicone render, complemented by natural wood elements, aluminium window and door frames in a natural oak finish, glass railings and an anthracite steel structure for the pergola/orangery. The total plot area is 415 m², the built-up area is 175 m², the total floor area is 247 m², and the project includes two parking spaces.
