Project Name:
SANAA – Damietta Furniture Design & Innovation Hub

Project Declaration:

SENAA is a specialized center dedicated to advancing the furniture industry through research, innovation, education, production, exhibition, and market development. Located in El-Sanania District, Damietta, Egypt, the project responds to the growing need for a platform that bridges the gap between furniture manufacturing, design innovation, and industry-oriented education.

Although Damietta is widely recognized as Egypt’s furniture capital, the sector continues to rely heavily on manufacturing and the implementation of existing designs, while opportunities for research, development, and original design creation remain limited. The project addresses this challenge by establishing an integrated environment where designers, researchers, students, craftsmen, and investors can collaborate to develop innovative furniture solutions and strengthen the competitiveness of the industry.

Inspired by the concept of Joinery, the architectural design reflects the idea of interconnected elements working together as one system, symbolizing the relationship between knowledge, creativity, production, and market growth.

The project's primary objective is to transform Damietta from a center of furniture manufacturing into a center of furniture design, innovation, and knowledge production. Through its integrated zones, SENAA aims to support talent development, encourage technological advancement, enhance product value, promote entrepreneurship, and contribute to the sustainable growth of Egypt’s furniture industry on both local and international levels.
