The project is based on the concept of 'The Muse', inspired by the Fayoum Mummy portrait tradition. It emerges from the intersection of artistic memory, contemporary creativity, production, reflection, and cultural continuity, linking ancient Egyptian, Hellenistic, and Roman traditions.
The main goal of the project is to establish an Artistic Heritage and Contemporary Arts Center that serves as a mediator between past and present, transforming Fayoum's artistic legacy into a cultural, educational, and economic engine. The site is in Fayoum near Lake Qarun, chosen for its natural characteristics and the connection of agriculture, desert, and water. The project merges artistic aspects, creating immersive journeys of historical research with contemporary tools. It includes zones for sculptures, painting, digital arts, and various cultural activities organized across multiple floor levels.
The design includes ground floor plan, first floor plan, second floor plan, and additional levels at 1:500 scale. The building features courtyards, internally spread structures with carefully designed circulation. Main zones include galleries, workshop spaces, café and dining areas, digital art spaces, exhibition halls, and outdoor exhibition areas. Design analysis addresses orientation, ventilation, and natural lighting strategies. The structural approach incorporates sections and elevations showing the multi-level composition along the waterfront.
