Project idea

The design proposal is founded on the creation of a multifunctional environment that provides athletes with a calm and comfortable setting for both work and study. The architectural concept is based on the honest expression of the building's materiality, allowing the intrinsic qualities of the structural and finishing materials to define the spatial character.

The interior design is articulated through a palette of blue tones, referencing the site's identity, which is intrinsically connected to the Sava River. The motif of water is further translated into the interior not only through the use of colour but also through fluid, organic geometries expressed in bespoke architectural and furniture elements. These custom-designed features reinforce the conceptual narrative while contributing to a cohesive and distinctive spatial identity.

Project description

The primary seating area, located on the left side of the layout, is organized around worktables and subtly enclosed by curtains, creating a greater sense of privacy while preserving visual openness. The central part of the plan accommodates a more informal social zone, featuring comfortable lounge seating intended for relaxed work, collaboration, and informal interaction. The right side of the layout is dedicated to individual workstations, offering unobstructed views of the sports complex as well as the adjacent ecological corridor and the Sava River. These visual connections strengthen the relationship between the interior and its surrounding landscape, contributing to a calm and inspiring working environment.

Technical information

As reinforced concrete frame construction is a defining characteristic of Old Belgrade's architecture, this structural principle has been adopted as the basis of the hotel design. The building is conceived as a reinforced concrete frame combined with load-bearing walls, with the architectural expression emphasizing the honest exposition of its materiality. Exposed materials define the character of the architecture and authenticity of the space.
